The Sunday Salon: Post-Readathon

So, yesterday was the 24 Hour Readathon, and my third time participating. I had a great time, even with having to leave the house for quite a while in the afternoon to travel to and from (and participate in) book club.

Overall, I read for 15 hours and 10 minutes – 11 hours of that was paper/ebook reading, and the rest was listening to an audiobook.

Some interesting points:

  • I read a total of 606 pages, as well as almost half of an audiobook that I had already started (equivalent to about another 100-150 pages).
  • I finished 2 books (Loom and Some Dream for Fools), and also read large chunks of 4 other books (Dexter by Design, Alias Grace, Footnotes of Gaza, and One Big Happy Family).
  • My roommate Liz joined me for a bit, but had a headache most of the day and so didn’t end up actually reading much. She did, however, keep me company and shared the copious quantity of snack food with me!

I had tons of fun, yet again! Congrats to all the ladies who organized the event and, as usual, did a great job.

Aside from the readathon, my week’s been pretty laid-back and boring. Hopefully that means I’ll have more to tell you next Sunday! In the meantime, I’m leaving you with an adorable kitteh-picture to make you smile. Have a great week!

Skittles hiding behind my laptop the afternoon after the readathon.

  1. 15 hours of reading! I got in WAY less than that unfortunately. I always have grand plans that seem to get interrupted with life. But, I managed to read more than usual so that was fun.
