At the beginning of this book, I found myself really frustrated with some of the characters. I especially was pretty annoyed with Bria – it seemed like she had suddenly become kind of bitchy out of nowhere.
I think my feelings about this book are pretty much the same as my feelings about the series overall: it’s cute and fun but also super cheesy and predictable.
Soooo … just a heads up. This (long) novella is purely erotica. There is no mystery, no case to solve, no anything like that.
So when I heard that Roth would be releasing a collection of stories written from Tobias/Four’s point of view, I really wanted to read them. I saw the book in an airport over the summer when I was travelling, but then forgot about it until earlier this month. I then snatched it up pretty much immediately.
Reading this book was seriously intense. It was like all the bad things that could possibly happen to Adrian and Sydney did happen. It was actually rather painful to read, particularly the bits in the beginning where Sydney is basically imprisoned and is not even allowed her own clothes.
