Mini-Bloggiesta The First

Bloggiesta was created by Natasha from Maw Books Blog and is now hosted by Suey from It’s All About Books and Danielle from There’s a Book. This weekend is the first mini-event between main events. Here’s the details:

Bloggiesta starts now and runs until midnight EST Sunday February 3rd. Participate when and how you want. This is your time to improve on those little things about your blog you’ve been thinking about for months, mark off those long to-do lists and possibly even discover a few great new blogs. Whether you have days, hours or just a few minutes we hope you’ll join us!

This is a blogging party led by our fearless mascot PEDRO (Plan. Edit. Develop. Review. Organize.). The idea behind Bloggiesta is to keep Pedro happy by spending these next three days working on perfecting your blog and connecting with other bloggers doing the same thing.

This Bloggiesta, I’m really just focusing on tasks that I think will help me get back into the swing of blogging. I’ve been really slacking, not posting reviews for weeks at a time, and I miss the sense of community and the reflection on my reading that I once had through this blog. So I’m focusing this weekend on getting up the momentum to give my blogging a much-needed jumpstart.

Goals for this Bloggiesta:

  • Create a vlog
  • Catch up on review posts:
    • You Are Not So Smart
    • The Night Circus
    • The Wal-Mart Effect
    • Boy Meets Boy
    • I’ll Get There. It Better Be Worth the Trip.
    • Memory Mambo
    • The Graveyard Book
    • Jumpstart the World
    • A Long Walk to Freedom
    • How to Be A Woman
    • The Table Comes First
    • A Cup of Friendship
    • Coraline
    • Dark Places
    • Astray
    • Quiet
    • I’d Like to Apologize to Every Teacher I Ever Had
    • Sharp Objects
    • The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas
  • Carry over my reviews to my LibraryThing account

I’ll be updating my progress in the list and/or at the bottom of this post so that I don’t clog up people’s feeds. If you’re participating in Bloggiesta, let me know in the comments and I’ll be sure to come by, say hello, and cheer you on!

Looks like you’ve got quite a list there, especially all the reviews. Me? I’m almost done with mine, but kept it pretty simple…like my blog.

  2. Yeah same, my blog hasn’t been the same since before Summer.. I’ve had burn out of various kinds, depression and I’ve been away for the holidays and so on. I’m now determined to really get back into the swing of things, running a blog I can once again be proud of. So I’m going to tidy things up, pre-write a few things and start being a better community member. :)

That’s a long list of reviews to write! It’s my least favorite part of bloggiesta, but it’s good to be forced to work on it.

Good luck, I hope you get a lot done.

Write, write, write! :) Looks like you’re plenty busy for the weekend. It’s so easy to fall behind on reviews.

Sending lots of productivity vibes your way!

I hope you are getting some of those reviews written. I hate when I get so back-logged and it seems to happen quite often!

Good luck with your goals and thanks for stopping by my blog!

Wow! That’s a lot of reviews to write! Good luck!

  9. I should have tackled some reviews this week but chose not to. Good luck on finishing all your review drafts. :)
