In My Mailbox

September 26, 2010

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by The Story Siren and inspired by Pop Culture Junkie.

Every week (or skipping some, depending on how frequently new books enter my life!), I’ll be posting on Sundays about what books I got, from all sources – bought, borrowed, exchanged, etc.

I’ve still got another week of the book buying ban left, but one of these books just needed to be purchased this week (for obvious reasons having to do with a certain attempt to ban it), and the review copy was requested a month ago, so isn’t included in the ban. It just took a while to get here!

Purchased from Chapters:

Review copy from Henry Holt and Company: (allowed since it was already coming and isn’t a new request)

I loved the book Speak! And, I’ve heard such good things about Footnotes in Gaza; I can’t wait to hear what you have to say about it. Perhaps I’ll read it for the Middle East Reading Challenge.

I’ll definitely be reading it for the MERC! I have absolutely loved the other Sacco books that I’ve read so far, and so I was really excited when I asked for a review copy and actually got it!

Speak is worth breaking you book buying ban. It was a very powerful book. My mailbox is here. Happy reading!

Speak is wonderful! I’ve seen a lot of book bloggers mentioning that one right now what with Banned Book Week in the States. I hope you’ll enjoy it.

Yup, tons of posts about it right now! I’m glad that I finally read it.
