Bloggiesta the Fifth

March 22, 2013

Bloggiesta was created by Natasha from Maw Books Blog and is now hosted by Suey from It’s All About Books and Danielle from There’s a Book. This weekend is the first mini-event between main events. Here’s the details:

Bloggiesta starts today and runs through Sunday. Participate when and how you want. This is your time to improve on those little things about your blog you’ve been thinking about for months, mark off those long to-do lists and possibly even discover a few great new blogs. Whether you have days, hours or just a few minutes we hope you’ll join us!

This is a blogging party led by our fearless mascot PEDRO (Plan. Edit. Develop. Review. Organize.). The idea behind Bloggiesta is to keep Pedro happy by spending these next three days working on perfecting your blog and connecting with other bloggers doing the same thing.

You can read about my Bloggiesta escapades from previous events hereherehereherehere, and here.

I’ve gotten really behind on writing reviews, so this bloggiesta (like the last mini-one, and probably the full event before that) will be dedicated to trying desperately to catch up. Maybe I’ll also get a few other tasks done, but this is really going to have to be my focus this weekend.

Goals for this Bloggiesta:

  • Update my Reading Around the World map
  • Catch up on review posts:
    • The Night Circus
    • When It Happens to You
    • Memory Mambo
    • The Graveyard Book
    • Jumpstart the World
    • A Long Walk to Freedom
    • The Handmaid’s Tale
    • The Table Comes First
    • A Cup of Friendship
    • Dark Places
    • Quiet
    • Sharp Objects
    • The Three Musketeers
    • The Man in the Iron Mask
    • Alif the Unseen
  • Carry over my reviews to my LibraryThing account

I’ll be updating my progress in the list and/or at the bottom of this post so that I don’t clog up people’s feeds. If you’re participating in Bloggiesta, let me know in the comments and I’ll be sure to come by, say hello, and cheer you on!

I’ll have to look for you on LibraryThing! Good luck with your reviews! That’s a long list to get through.

That’s a lot of reviews, Carina. Good luck this weekend. I hope you get a lot done.

You’ve got so many fantastic books on your list. I totally loved The Night Circus but like you I never reviewed it. I think I will re-read it before reviewing it, that way I can give it a proper review.

    My Bloggiesta Goals

    Have a great Bloggigesta weekend!

Great list! I see some books on your “review list” that I loved: Sharp Objects, The Handmaid’s Tale…and I have Dark Places on my wish list.

    Enjoy the party!

I always seem to get behind on my reviews – I have a bunch to do this weekend, but not nearly as much as you…I hope you get them all done!!!

    Here’s my Bloggiesta to-do list.

    Good luck with your list!

I hope you’re able to accomplish most (or all!) of your goals this weekend. I’m getting through my list..but I keep adding more things to it as I hop around different blogs 😉

    Happy Bloggiesta!

That’s a lot of reviews! I’m looking forward to reading them. I’m just over half way through Quiet right now and am really enjoying it and learning a lot. I hope you check out my Bloggiesta To Do List or join my mini-challenge about getting involved!

Good luck with your list! I have been catching up on some reviews, myself, though I have finally decided that I won’t review every single book I read on my blog anymore. Kind of took some of the pressure off and now I feel like I’m a much better blogger for it, haha!

Happy to have stumbled across your blog, thanks to Bloggiesta. I really like your Scrabble layout — so fun! I’m a new Twitter Follower (@MelsBookshelf) and also liked your FB page.

Here is my Bloggiesta To-Do List.
