Bloggiesta: Plan of Action

This weekend, June 11-13, Natasha of Maw Books is hosting Bloggiesta. It’s a blogging marathon that we can use to improve our blogs alongside other bloggers doing the same thing. In Natasha’s words, “Break out the nachos, enchiladas, drinks, mariachi music and whack a pinata or two!” I’ll be joining in for as much of the weekend as I can, since I have a long list of things that I’d like to get done.

I’ve included my list below, so that I can work on checking things off as I go along. There’s just something about crossing out items on a list that gets me going!

(As an aside – like a few other people I’ve seen post about this or say things on Twitter for the last couple days, I, too, got a bit ahead of myself and crossed off a few things before the official start time. I’ve indicated those by using this colour, so that you can see the difference between pre-Bloggiesta accomplishments, and those done during the actual weekend!)

(Edit: As of Sunday morning, I’ve put the remaining items left in this colour, so that I can better see what I have left to get to!)

  1. Holy goodness that’s some list you got there but it looks like you’re getting a lot done for your blog and that’s great. Good luck getting the rest of your items checked out. Happy Bloggiesta! Love the look and feel of your blog. You do great work!

  2. Wow…you certainly have been productive! This is my first time participating and I am having fun getting some things done on my to-do-list and also visiting everyone that’s part of this event.

I really like the look of your blog – I love playing Scrabble with my husband – great theme!

    1. It’s my first time, too! I haven’t had much time yet to go visit other peoples’ blogs, but I definitely think that I’ll get to that tomorrow before Bloggiesta’s over. 🙂

  3. Your blog is so crisp and clean…love the theme!! What a great To Do list and you have even reminded me of a few items that I didn’t put on mine.

Good luck with the rest of the event!!! and Happy Bloggiesta.

  4. Wow, what an ambitious list! I’m impressed by how much you’ve gotten done. It puts my list/work to shame. Good luck with the rest of your list 🙂

    1. Keep in mind that a lot of it was done before Bloggiesta really started, because I got all excited and ahead of myself. *blush* Any work is good work!

  5. holy moly that’s quite a list!
looks like you’re getting through most of it though! good luck on the rest.

ps. your human test is interesting.. i’ve never seen one like that before… apparently i failed it the first time since i thought it was just cute pictures and didn’t read the directions. ><

    1. Aww! I found that before I switched to using a “human test” of some kind, I was getting tons of spam. It was driving me nuts! So I decided on this one, because it’s a little more original than the “captcha” thing.

    1. Favicons are those little pictures that show up in the internet browser tab on a site – for example, mine is an “R” tile from scrabble, and the one for Twitter is that really easily identifiable blue “t”.

  6. Wow…you accomplished a lot. If I figure out how the drop down menus work, I’ll let you know. I’m thinking of adding those myself!

I also wanted to let you know that I now have a sign up for available for my event, Book Read ‘Round the World so you can now go officially sign up. I have one other Canadian blogger so far who also happens to be in Ontario! Awesome! Don’t worry though…I won’t have you guys sending to each other. 😛

    1. Yay! I had them sort of working, but not properly – the list was cut off at the bottom, and when I tried to move my mouse to click on things, the dropdown would disappear. I figured the current version is better than it being screwy like that.

      I joined up!
