Announcing the 2nd annual Ramadan Reading event … and a call for guest posts!

During the month of Ramadan (August 1 – 30), I am going to be posting daily reviews of books that deal with Islam, as well as other discussion posts related to the topics that come out of these books. I will be writing about both fiction and non-fiction books, and from a variety of sources and perspectives.

I am also putting out a call to other bloggers for guest posts and guest reviews, and this is where you all come in! I would like to ask for input from anyone interested, in any way that they would like to contribute. This could be in the form of a  discussion post (here or on your own blog), a review of a book that you have just read, or a previously published review that would be re-published here. Pretty much anything goes, as long as it’s related and (obviously) respectful!

For example, you could:

… review a book about Islam, or even a novel about someone who is Muslim or a memoir where Islam has affected someone even if they aren’t self-identified as Muslim (for example, Azar Nafisi’s “Reading Lolita in Tehran” would be okay).

… write about the portrayal of Islam or Muslims in books

… highlight a Muslim writer and their books

… something else you think of that fits the theme!

If you are interested in contributing, please fill out this form or send me an email. Feel free, as well, to pass the link to this post around to anyone who you think might be interested. You do not need to be a book blogger to participate! Bloggers of all varieties (and authors or other bookish people) are welcome to join in.
